April Wrap Up | 2017

monthly-wrap-up-book-haul-1

Hello all! I have been enjoying sitting in my room with my blinds and window open as of late. I love the sounds that surround early spring. I don’t know about where you live, but here where I live, I hear the traffic on the nearby bypass, the birds at both 5-6 AM & PM. I hear people outside doing their spring cleaning, and I hear kids playing around outside. That’s when it’s sunny. — When it’s raining (which I still love) I tend to hear the rain hitting the roof, along with the white noise that accompanies rain. I don’t usually hear all that much traffic when it rains, which is a nice break!

unnamed-15This month my To Be Read consisted of four (4) books! — Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard which was a re-read as well as my Goodreads book group (Seize the Book) monthly read. — The other three books are stand alones. These three books are (from the top)Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, and A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.

A Monster Calls was in this months TBR since I didn’t get around to finish reading it last month, so I just rolled AMC onto this months TBR.

I wanted to read Before I Fall since my mom wants to see the movie (as do I, honestly), and I also read Thirteen Reasons Why since the book was turned into a series on Netflix. However, I’m no longer interested in the Netflix version of Thirteen Reasons Why.

What I read this month:

  • Scythe by Neal Shusterman — ★
  • Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher — ★★’s
  • Beautiful Decay by Sylvia Lewis — ★★★★★’s
  • Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs — ★★★’s
  • A Shadow Bright and Burning (Kingdom of Fire, #1) by Jessica Cluess — ★★★’s
  • Ever the Hunted (Clash of Kingdoms, #1) by Erin Summerill — ★★★’s
  • Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs — ★★★’s
  • Glass Arrow by Kristen Simmons — ★★’s
  • Fire Touched (Mercy Thompson, #9) by Patricia Briggs — ★★★★’s

unnamed-25While I’m still in the midst of re-reading Red Queen, I did manage to re-read two other books. I re-read:

  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han — ★★★★’s
  • P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, #2) by Jenny Han — ★★★★★’s

Other thoughts from this month:

Playlists that I’ve liked this month are: The Brightest Witch, & the world is a puzzle.

unnamed-21I believe that Beautiful Decay is now one of my favourite books. I actually returned my library copy to the library and bought my own version of the book! I believe the book should arrive sometime around early May.

I might start doing Mini Reviews? I said that in a question since I don’t know for sure myself if I’m going to do them or not. They sound so appealing to me though…

So, “Mini Reviews” are going to be a thing! You won’t see them for a few months since I have reviews queued up for at least three months in advance, but they’re definitely going to be a thing from now on. — This is great for when I have little to say about a book, but still want to say something!

That’s for me this month. Did you read anything interesting? I hope you all had an enjoyable April!

Happy Reading!
Adele

I’ve recently found your blog and it’s awesome! I love reading your reviews. ♡ I don’t know that P.S. I Still Love You was published – I fell in love with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, so I must read it as soon as possible 🙂 As for Thirteen Reasons Why, I’m currently reading this book. I watched the series on Netflix earlier and to be honest it’s very gripping and I liked it more than book. But it’s my opinion 🙂
