TBR Tuesday #29

Screen Shot 2016-04-10 at 10.22.37 PMHello reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

This week’s TBR books are two books that I believe I bought around the same time. One book is widely known because the author is a beauty/vlogger person on youtube. The deal with the other book is that I haven’t really heard all that much about it. Both books are in the Young Adult category. The first book is a Science Fiction/Fantasy novel, the other a Contemporary Romance novel.

The first book I’ll be talking about is the Science Fiction/Fantasy novel. This book is called Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano. unnamed-19

I’ll admit that I’m a bit nervous about reading Perfect Ruin. I’ve read DeStefano’s The Chemical Garden trilogy, and I found that I didn’t like the trilogy as much as I thought I would. With that said, I hope that Perfect Ruin will be better than the low expectations I have for the book.

Perfect Ruin is about a world where you can be anything that you dream to be… As long as you don’t approach ‘THE EDGE.’ If you do, you can already say that your life is over. —- I’m getting the feeling that Perfect Ruin has the same type of “No don’t go there! *goes there anyway*” type novel.

I have no idea what to expect in Perfect Ruin.

The second book is called Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, Sioban Curham (Ghost writer)

So I had no idea, yet suspected that Girl Online wasn’t written by Girl Online. I’m actually unnamed-20starting to believe that I won’t enjoy Girl Online at all. Which is entirely disappointing since the synopsis is mildly intriguing.

I’m not really a fan of books that are realistic in the sense that they could actually play out in this world. However, if the book(s) is/are either smutty enough, or fluffy enough, I tend to enjoy them.

When I read the synopsis for Girl Online I only read the first little bit of the synopsis. I read the synopsis again though — the whole thing, and holy smokes, the last bit of the synopsis wants to make me read Girl Online just to find out what happens. Other than that, I’m still not going to hold the candle and expect a whole lot out of Girl Online.

Have you read Perfect Ruin, or Girl Online before? If you have, what did you think of the book(s)? If you haven’t read either of these books, do think you ever will?

Happy Reading!
