TBR Tuesday #19

Hello reader/s! I hope you’re well! For a while now, I’ve been writing a weekly or bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.

Both of these books that I’m talking about today, are written by authors that I’ve read from before. Both of these books fall into the Fantasy genre; which I love. The difference between these two books though, is that the first book I’m talking about is the first in a trilogy, while the second book is a book in the last of it’s series.

Another difference between these two books is that one of the books deals with Faeries, and the other deals with Space.

The first book I’m talking about today is Lament by Maggie Stiefvater.

I’ve head absolutely nothing about Lament. …Of course I’ve come across Lament on Goodreads, but aside from Goodreads itself, finding anyone who has read this book is like finding a needle in a haystack — pretty rare.

Lament is a story that features Faeries, and needless to say, I’m pretty excited to read the book! I love stories that have Fae (and other supernatural beings) in them. Supernatural beings just seem to…enhance stories. The thing about this book is that the main character is a cloverhand. And a cloverhand is a person who has the natural ability to see the Fae. And for some reason (probably because the MC can see them) the main character is on the Fae hit list.

I have no idea what to expect with Lament. All I know (and hope) is that Lament is going to be one heck of a book. I also kinda figure that if this is a Typical YA book in which the bad guy falls for the main lead…I don’t mind that this might happen. It’s a trope that I both hate and love.

The next book is Winter by Marissa Meyer. Winter is the fourth book in the Lunar Chronicles series.

I’ve had Winter for a while now, probably since the book first came out…which was November 2015. So it was (as this is posted) purchased over a year ago!

I really want to re-read the entire Lunar Chronicles series before actually getting down to read Winter. I suspect that Winter will be packed with action and intrigue, building up to one hell of an ending.

I honestly have no idea what to expect with Winter. So whenever I get around to reading the book, I’ll be sure to update via Instagram. I just want my babies to be okaaaay!!

Lament and Winter are two books that I have on my TBR shelf. Have you read either book? If you have, what did you think of it/them? If you haven’t read either book, do you think one day you might?

Happy Reading!
Adele
