Happy Halloween everyone! If you don’t celebrate Halloween, then a happy Monday to you! As you can see, today’s post is a Book Tag! I’m trying to do more book tags; so like, one book tag a month, since I don’t want to bombard myself -or you- with tags.
I thought to myself the other day, “Are there any Halloween Book Tags?” Turns out, there is! So I’m going to do that today in celebration of Halloween. I can’t find the original post, so kudos to whomever created this post!
Favourite Scary Must Read for Halloween
I have two(!) scary must reads: they are The Devouring by Simon Holt, and Darkhouse by Karina Halle !!! I love both of these books. I read them at two very different points in my life, and when I finished both books I had to sleep with a night light on.
Scariest Book Cover, like Ever….
Every time I see this book, I have a little scare. And if the cover catches me off guard at the library, I jump sometimes as well. The book cover I’m talking about is the cover for Isla J. Bick’s book, Ashes. Literally every time I see that cover I have to look away quickly.
If you could pick any author to go trick or treating with, who would you pick?
If I could go trick-or-treating with any author, I would choose Holly Black. She just seems like a great person to get to know, and to hear her descriptions of everything would be amazing.
If you could dress up as any bookish character for Halloween, who would you be?
If I could dress up as any bookish character ….. AHAHA, what -or who, rather- immediately came to mind is Okiku, from The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco. I love how creepy she could be and if I could do that in her get up, I’d have the time of my liiife.
If you could find anything, from any book, in your trick or treat stash, what would you hope to find?
I would love to find an invitation to the Night Circus. — I love that book, as well as the circus in the book…so being invited to the circus would be incredibly amazing. I would love to just have a night to remember. To experience the magic that’s involved in the circus and get to see the characters in that world before my literal eyes. Ahh, that’d be amazing.
In what fictional world would you like to go trick-or-treating?
I thought hard about this one. It turns out, I’d like to go trick-or-treating in the world of Mercy Thompson. It’s a parallel world to our own so I’d be able to trick-or-treat like normal, buuut the only downfall would be getting hurt in some way.
What book villain would you not like to meet alone in a dark alley on Halloween?
I wouldn’t want to meet any seriously bad fictional dude, ever. Guy or girl. If they’re truly evil, then no way Jose. Nuh-uh. Can’t make me do it. — However, if they’re bad in a good way, then I’ll meet whoever I meet! ahah. —– If you can’t tell, I have no idea who I wouldn’t want to meet alone in a dark alley on Halloween.
Would you rather dress up as a vampire, zombie, werewolf, or a shadowhunter?
I’m going to be quite honest. I’d rather dress up as a bear, than be dressed up as any of these. The reasoning behind this is that it’d take too much of my energy to dress up as anything. With vampires I’d have to have the fake eyes, the fake teeth, and probably a lot of make up to make me look dead. And I don’t like zombie’s all that much, and it’d take a lot of energy to even act like one! Not to mention the costume. All that fake blood would make me woozy from the smell. And a werewolf costume…how would I even dress up as one? Dressing up as a shadowhunter would be really fun, however, I don’t want to dress up as one, ever.
Pick a candy (just one) from Harry Potter that you would love to find in your stash?
I think I’d enjoy having Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans! I haven’t finished reading the series to be quite honest with you. I’ve only read the first book, and the first book doesn’t have all that much candy in it from what I can recall.
What is your favourite Halloween candy?
There is literally so much candy to choose from. I think my favourite Halloween candy as a child was well….everything. But nowaday’s I can’t handle that much candy. I’m going to say either Jolly Ranchers, or sour candy in general.
That is all I have for this months book tag! I hope you enjoyed reading, because I know I enjoyed writing out this tag. There were a few times I almost wrote down Harry Potter relevant answers, haha! I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!
Tell me, what is your favourite type of Halloween candy?
Happy Reading!
Adele
