Autumn Book Tag | 2016

I’ve initially found this post via The Quirky Book Nerd, and since it’s Autumn currently, I figured, “Why not??

So, Autumn is my favourite season of the year. Up here in Western Canada, Autumn is very short. We usually have the heat from summer spilling over into the first few weeks of Autumn, and then the weather will pitter off into some rain. And then it’ll be dry and sunny, with a crisp cold air that almost burns your throat if you suck in air too quickly. The weather here is finicky anyway. And of course, the leaves are falling, so there’s the crunch of leaves under your feet if you’ve decided to go for a walk. And nearing Winter the air will get colder, and you’ll be able to see your huffs and puffs of breath through your nose.

Onto the questions!

What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

My favourite thing about Autumn would have to be how sunny it can be, yet cold and crisp at the same time. And of course, the hot chocolate. Oh, I can’t forget the pumpkins!!!

What book reminds you of your school days?

22628

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is the answer to this one. I read that book throughout my last year of high school. I think I reread The Perks of Being a Wallflower at least 4 times. I re-read that book non-stop. Perks was with me more often than not. If I was there, there was a high probability that The Perks of Being a Wallflower was somewhere on my person as well.

What cover reminds you of Autumn?

There are two covers that remind me of Autumn actually! The first being: In A Handful of Dust by Mindy McGinnis, and Uprooted by Naomi Novik. I still have yet to read either of these books! I’m looking forward to them!

What is your favourite horror or Halloween story?

Oh man! My favourite Horror story would have to be Darkhouse by Karina Halle! I legitimately had to sleep with my light on for a week! I haven’t really heard of any “Halloween” stories, so if you have heard of any Halloween stories, I would love to hear about them! I love Halloween, so Halloween + books = loooove!!!!

What is your favourite horror or Halloween film?

Hmmm, there are a few horror films I’ve seen, but I really do prefer Halloween movies. Usually the ones that are on the Disney channel around this time of year. Like, Twitches, or Halloweentown. For this question, I’m going to have to say Halloweentown. There’s just such a perfect blend of Halloween.

What fall book release are you looking forward to?

Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Rhoerg & The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

A few of the books I’ve been looking forward to have already come out (by the time I’ve posted this), or are about to come out so I found no point in telling you which. These two books though; Last Seen Leaving, is coming out in October, and The Fate of the Tearling will be coming out in November!!!

What Autumn movie release are you anticipating?

I’m not one to watch movies in theatres all that much actually! I’m more of a wait until I can watch them at home person. So there aren’t any movies that stick out to me this Autumn, unfortunately.

What are three books you plan on reading this Autumn?

I plan on reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling, The Vanishing Throne by Elizabeth May, and Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz!

That’s all for this Autumn tag. Thank you so much for reading, if you’ve made it this far. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your day.

Happy Reading!
Adele
