Totally Should’ve Book Tag

Hello loves! I hope today will, or has, treat/ed you well! So a while ago I watched jessiethereader’s video titled Totally Should’ve Book Tag, and I really liked the tag. So that’s what this post is about! Lets get onto the questions!!

1 – Totally should’ve gotten a sequel

The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black, totally should’ve gotten a sequel. I love this story so much, and I really want to know what happens after the aftermath! I would say my imagination is okay, but nothing like Black’s is like. I’d really like to know what happens with Hazel and her brother.

2 – Totally should’ve had a spin off series

The Chemical Garden trilogy; written by Lauren DeStefano, totally should’ve had a spin off series! I enjoyed reading Rhine’s story, but I didn’t love it; most of the time I was actually frustrated beyond measure. That’s why I believe that the Chemical Garden trilogy should’ve gotten a spin off series! I’d really love to see what would happen after everything had finished. I would have loved to see so many things happen.

3 – An author who totally should write more books

There are quite a few authors who, I think I would enjoy reading more of their stories. I really think that Leigh Fallon should write more. And also Romina Russell! I love their books so much!

4 – A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else

Chloe Saunders from the Darkest Powers trilogy which is written by Kelley Armstrong. I really think that Chloe is better off with another character that the one she first showed signs of interest in. There’s one thing where you have a few connections with, example, they could both like cars. But when two people have a connection deeper than that, they’re so good for each other. I’m talking about the connection where you can just give each other a look, and be able to just know what the other is thinking. Chloe totally should’ve ended up with Derek!

5 – Totally should’ve ended differently

Allegiant, which is the third book in the Divergent trilogy written by Veronica Roth. I am happy with how the ending turned out to be. It’s such a Tris thing that she would do that. I just wish that things would have ended differently. I’m a sucker for romantic endings, and the ending to Allegiant isn’t romantic at all. Allegiant totally should’ve ended differently.

6 – Totally should’ve had a movie franchise

There are two book series that I think that they totally should’ve had a movie franchise. The first is the Immortal series by Alyson Noel. This series was fun, and frustrating, and had me on the edge of my seat, and I was a total fangirl when I first read the first few books a few years ago.

The second is the Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr. From the second I opened and read the first sentence on the page, I was undeniably hooked. The Wicked Lovely series is based around this girl, Aislinn. If I’m recalling the story plot correctly, Aislinn has the power to see “invisible” faeries.

7 – Totally should’ve had a TV show

Delirium by Lauren Oliver would’ve been great for a TV show. You have the Dystopian feature, and the forbidden love. All would be great for a semi-sucessful TV show. I think that maybe, the book would be an okay start to a series? I didn’t like this book when I first got my hands on it. Which makes me so glad that I didn’t buy it.

8 – Totally should’ve had only one point of view

There are soo many books that I could mention for an answer, but the first one that comes to mind is the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. Not only is there multiple views throughout the trilogy, but the differing points of view really take away from the story. It’s like with each book that was written, there were more points of view to remember. While I was fine with that in the first two books, it really bothered me in the last book, Dreams of Gods and Monsters. There are so many points of view in DoGaM, that with each point of view I couldn’t remember what had happened the last time I read from any character’s point of view.

9 – Totally should have a cover change

The last book to the Blood of Eden series. That book doesn’t match the rest of the trilogy’s feel at all and that is the sole reason why I haven’t bought/borrowed the book yet to read it. The only cover that matches the rest is the Hardcover version and I have the first two in paperback.

10 – Totally should’ve kept the original covers

Vampire Academy; written by Richelle Mead, totally should’ve kept the original covers. I know this has bothered a lot of people, and while it didn’t really bother me because I ended up buying the whole entire series anyway. Remember when the Vampire Academy movie came out, and they changed the first book’s cover? Yep! I like the original cover way better than the movie endorsed one.

11 – Totally should’ve stopped at book one

Wings by Aprilynne Pike is a series that I should’ve stopped at book one. I think it was the characters reactions to everything that really put me off about this book. The storyline from what I remember seems to be okay. It’s just the characters and the way the story was written that made me feel weird about the whole series. I think I only had one book left and then I’d be done with the series.

That’s it for this tag! I hope you enjoyed reading what I had to say. If you want to do this tag or find it interesting at all, then I tag you to do it!

Thanks for reading!

Adele

I totally adore Wicked Lovely, although I would have preferred to see it as a (longer, more in-depth) TV series than an (admittedly higher-budget) movie!
