Hello bookworms! I hope today has treats you well. Maybe with these free e-books, you’ll have a brighter day! All of these books are listed on Amazon, so if you’re an Amazon user then great! I’m unfortunately not a Amazon user, I’ve only bought something once from Amazon, and now only use their Kindle app for any netgalley’s I might receive!
There are 39 permanent free e-books on their list, and I’ll list the ones that I did not download below the ones that I did download. If any of these books appeal to you, feel free to download them!
I’m downloading these books from Kobo since I’m already familiar with their site, and I have a Kobo Aura, so it’s just easier for me to download the books from their site onto my kobo device.
Before downloading any of the books, I looked through the list of books that are offered. And upon looking at the titles and authors on the list I realized that I recognized a few! There are quite a few books and authors names that I didn’t recognize though.
The first book that I downloaded was…
Defiance Rising by Amy Miles is a young adult Science Fiction Dystopian novel; part of a series..
““Now that is a beautiful sight.”
I whip around, instantly covering myself with my arms. “What are you doing here?” I scream. “Get out!”
“Aw, don’t tell me you’re a shy one. I didn’t peg you for that.” Bastien grins as he throws his leg over a rock and settles in for what appears to be an annoyingly lengthy time.
Using one arm, I swim as quickly as I can away from the center of the pool and head straight for the rocks. Bastien seems completely unphazed by my rising fury and he grins down at me. He does however reach out to retrieve my dagger from the pile of clothes he’s perched beside.
“Have you no decency?” I growl through chattering teeth. If I don’t get out soon I’ll risk hypothermia, but there’s no way I’m going to give Bastien the satisfaction of seeing me naked.
Twirling the dagger in his hand, he appears to contemplate my question. “I suppose this might seem a bit forward of me, but I thought you might like to know it’s time to go.”
“Fine. Message received. Leave now!”
He leans over the edge, peering down at me. “And miss all the fun? I think not.”
Illyria has never known a life without the Rebellion.
Instinct.
Survival.
Nothing else matters…until she ventures out into unknown territory and is faced with an enemy that proves even more fierce and determined than she ever thought.
Bastien is infuriating, dangerous and annoyingly gorgeous. Eamon is familiar, comforting and turning into a man before her eyes. Both want her heart…but she is torn between duty and desire. When her choice affects all of mankind, how can she allow herself to be selfish?
There is a power within her that can change everyone’s fate…but she underestimated the most potent force on Earth—love. Illyria must discover if she has the strength to sacrifice her heart to save mankind.”
I’m apprehensive about reading Defiance Rising. I don’t know what to expect. The synopsis doesn’t give very much away. We do obviously get a hint of who this character is, and a smidgen of what happens in this scene. Other than that though, I have no idea what to expect.
On top of that, I don’t really like the cover, but that’s alright!! I hope that just means that the story will be better!! Defiance Rising is the first book to a trilogy.

Forbidden by Amy Miles is the first book in the Arotas trilogy. Forbidden is a Young Adult Paranormal story.
“Roseline Enescue didn’t ask to become an Immortal, to have all of the guests at her wedding slaughtered, or be forced into marriage with a man whose lust for blood would one day ignite the vampire legend. Willing to risk everything for a chance at a normal life, Roseline escapes to America. Terrified her husband Vladimir will find her, Roseline enrolls as a senior in Chicago’s elite Rosewood Prep school. Mingling with humans is the last place he would look for her. But her transition into the human world isn’t easy. Mortal men flock after her while cutthroat girls plot her demise. Yet Roseline remains relatively unfazed by the petty hysteria until she falters into the arms of Gabriel Marston, reluctant MVP quarterback, unwilling ladies man, and sensitive artist in hiding. Troubled by the bond that pulls her towards the mortal boy, Roseline tries to ignore him, but Gabriel is persistent. As their lives entwine, Roseline begins to realize that Gabriel is much more than he appears. His ability to toss a football the entire length of the field and grind concrete into dust pales in comparison to the glowing blue cross tattoo that mysteriously appears on his forearms. Despite the forbidden bond between them, Roseline can’t help wondering what Gabriel is: He’s not human. He’s not Immortal. So just what is he?”
I have no idea what to think about this story. I know though, that there’s going to be this trope in the story where Gabriel will act like her hero and saviour when she doesn’t even need it. Aside from that though, the model on the cover looks really weird…. I’m excited for the vampire aspect of this story though.

Collide by Shelly Crane is the first book in the Collide saga. And Collide is a Young Adult Paranormal story. There is some Romance in the story, I don’t know how much, but there is.
“Sherry has always known there was something out there. She’s eighteen, works for a tabloid newspaper in Chicago and has a brother, Danny who is a lazy mooch. They live a pretty normal dull life with hippie parents and a normal existence. Then the moon dissapears and people start to go missing only to reappear later, but different. Sherry has an abusive ex-boyfriend who shows up and claims to be one of these beings that have been showing up around the world. He’s no longer the same person in that body. He tells her he has come to protect her and her brother and takes her underground, against her will to save her, where they meet others like them. She begins to unravel the truth about Merrick, about what he’s really doing here, about the way he looks at her, about the crazy dangerous world they live in. Can he convince her that he’s here to help? Will she like what she finds when she opens up to the truth? Will he be the one to love her when everyone else has failed her? Will he be able to protect her”
I have a feeling that this book will be intense. I think that Sherry will freak out; appropriate, given what we’ve just been told in the synopsis. But I think that Sherry will have this moment where she knows what to do, and it solidifies within her, and then she’ll be determined to whatever she ends up doing.

Edge of Disaster by A.M. Hargrove is a Young Adult Romance, that spans over into being a New Adult Romance novel.
“Alexia Hammond, broken and destroyed by a tragedy she can’t seem to recover from, is on a downward spiral toward destruction. A life of partying, alcohol, drugs and men has brought her near the edge of disaster. That is until one night while at work as a waitress in an upscale restaurant, she falls under the spell of one of her customers, Pearce Middleton. Once she gazes into his smoky gray eyes, her life takes on new meaning. But can she put her past behind her and allow herself to fall for the exciting and gorgeous Pearce, or will her lewd behavior come back to haunt her and ruin her chances of happiness forever?”
I’m pretty sure that Edge of Disaster will be a disaster of a book, but I’ll just have to wait and see for myself. I’m not too worried about how this book will play out though. I’ve been meaning to get my hands on some New Adult novels that aren’t written by CoHo. And Edge of Disaster is only a little more than 200 pages, so this’ll be a quick read. I expect there to be some smutty scenes, and people have listed this book on Goodreads as Abuse, so beware!

Forever Fae by L.P. Dover is the first book in the Forever Fae saga. Some people on GoodReads have listed this book as a Young Adult, and the same amount of people have listed Forever Fae as a New Adult novel. Nonetheless, I’m really looking forward to reading this book.
“He leans down, lips parted, and then our lips connect … We didn’t know that this one kiss has FOREVER changed the Land of the Fae.
According to the Prophecy proclaimed many years ago, Princess Calista of the Summer Court is destined to change the Land of the Fae from the evil determined to destroy it. Her powers are phenomenal, and she secretly trains for battle with her handsome warrior friend, Merrick, who unbeknownst to her protects her heart as well, in hopes of keeping it for himself. At least, until the seductive Prince Ryder attends the Guardian Ceremony and instantly sends a fire burning through her veins and a connection so deep they both discover a love above anything imaginable.
No one knows how Calista is destined to change the kingdoms, but there is one that does. He not only craves Calista’s power, but her body as well, and his goal is to steal her power, make her his Dark Queen, and take over the Land of the Fae.
Will the evil succeed in claiming Calista’s soul? Or will the two men that fight for her heart save her from despair, and help her fulfill her destiny to become what she was meant to be.”
There is romance in this one, so if you aren’t interested in reading any romance anytime soon, then I suggest you skip this one. There’s actually a warning at the bottom of ther synopsis on the GR’s page saying “Does contain some graphic language and sexual content. May not be suitable for young adults.”, the rest I am leaving up to you!

Survival by A.M. Hargrove is the first book in the series called “The Guardians of Vesturon.” Survival is a Young Adult Fantasy Romance novel.
““Maybe I was caught between the two worlds. I was having serious trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality.”
While on a backpacking trip in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, nineteen-year-old Maddie Pearce finds her world has been thrown into a vortex and is madly spinning toward the impossible. Abducted by a mad psychopath, Maddie narrowly escapes with her life. But that is only the beginning. Her mysterious rescuer introduces her to a world that Maddie has difficulty accepting as reality. Will this strikingly gorgeous stranger be the key to her future or will she return to her mundane world, scarred from her experience? Follow Maddie as she is forced to make difficult decisions that carry her to mysterious places.”
I literally have so many theories about this book, its crazy. By so many, I mean like, 2. I have two theories for this book, haha.

Aurora Sky by Nikki Jefford is a Paranormal book that features Vampires. Aurora Sky is actually the first book in a series. The series is called “Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter.”
“If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it’s to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn’t hurt either.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora’s life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. In Alaska. Basically she’s a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job… by hand.
Now Aurora’s only friends are groupies of the undead and the only boy she can think about may very well be a vampire.”
I’ve actually waited years for this book. I actually completely forgot about this book, so now that Aurora Sky is on the Free E-book list, I am just so excited to finally read Aurora’s story.
There is a warning at the bottom of the synopsis over on GoodRead’s. It states: ‘Mature YA, new adult series that becomes progressively more mature. Underage drinking, sexual situations, mild language and blood sucking.’ So you’ve been warned! I am so excited to read this book though, I’m freaking out a little.

Everblue by Brenda Pandos is the first book in a saga. I’m totally fine with this though because this book is about MERMAIDS!!
“She wanted her life to change… he wanted his to stay the same.
Best friends share everything with each other. Or do they? Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn Frances Lanski is tired of her boring, single life. Spending time with her best friend Tatiana, dreaming about kissing Tatiana’s twin brother Fin, and swimming competitively are her only sanctuary. The girls plan to leave their drab lakeside town far behind for college. But when Tatchi fails to return home after a family emergency, and no one knows where the family has gone, Ash chooses to do something drastic to find them.
Ashlyn is about to discover what she’d thought to be true her whole life, wasn’t, and the truth, too fantastical to imagine. Secrets lurk beneath the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe, secrets that will change Ashlyn’s life forever.”
So I’m not going to think too much about this book for the reason that I don’t want to be right about what happens in Everblue. Believe me, that happens too often!

The Emerald Talisman by Brenda Pandos is the first book in a trilogy.
“To be a normal, sixteen-year-old Julia Parker would shed her empathic gift in a second. Life has been difficult since her mother’s mysterious disappearance ten years earlier – an event she witnessed, but can’t remember. Julia’s situation becomes more complicated after a near death experience from a blood thirsty stalker. As high school students go missing it is clear there is a connection to her own experience–past and present. Someone has to stop the madness and a chance encounter with a creepy psychic foretells that only Julia is the key to stopping the madness, but it may require the life of the one she loves.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m actually looking forward to reading this novel. On Amazon, the page for this book says that this book is cliff-hanger free. Which I hope is true, but I wish it also isn’t true. Do you get what I’m saying? And I’m super excited about meeting all of the characters. So excited! I’ll probably read this tonight, haha.

Elsker by S.T. Bende is the first book in the Elsker Saga. Elkser is a New Adult novel that -as far as I can tell- takes place in Scotland.
“Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs. But when she transfers from her one-stoplight Oregon town to Cardiff University in Wales, she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. His cashmere sweaters and old world charm mask a warrior who’s spent an eternity fighting for his very existence. Ull is an honest-to-goodness Norse god — an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. On top of being marked for death, Asgardian law prohibits Ull from tying his fate to a mortal. No matter what she feels for Ull, Kristia knows she’s the one thing he can never have.
With Ragnarok on the horizon and a lunatic haunting her dreams, Kristia has to find a way to convince Ull that breaking the rules is the only way to survive; that defying the order he’s sworn to uphold is their only chance to be together. And when someone starts asking the wrong questions, Kristia realizes the crazy visions she’s had all her life might be the key to saving their realms… even if they end up costing her her life.”
Okay, so I have no idea what’s going to happen, obviously. What I do know is that I’m going to freak the f*ck out while reading this book! My expectations are high! I know I should lower them so I won’t be disappointed. I just can’t though. There is so much that I expect to happen in this book!

So here’s the long list of books that I’ve downloaded onto my Kobo device. I hope you found a book that you like?
To be honest, I didn’t just come across these books. I got an e-mail this past christmas with a link to a total of 39 books to download. For free. I think I’m only on their list because I read a book that the published that I had requested on Netgalley.
I can now stop typing, phew! My wrists and hands hurt from all the typing I’ve done.. Thank you so much(!!) for reading. I don’t think you know how much you reading means to me.
Until next time,
Adele
